The Truth

Our message this week is a day later than normal. Early this past Tuesday evening we received a telephone call that our son-in-law, Craig Berry, was in a very serious automobile accident. Craig's car was hit violently on the drivers side by a young drunken driver trying to escape from the police. We have seen the car, it is totaled! Only our Lord God's hand of protection saved Craig's life. He is still in the hospital recovering, he has 9 fractures in his collar bone, 7 broken ribs, a punctured lung, deep cut in his shoulder and many bruises. Thank you for your prayers and support Craig is slowly recovering.

Briefly today, we will continue our discussion of the "Big Lie" - Jews are occupying land belonging to the Palestinians. Who actually are the Palestinians? The terms Palestine and Palestinian date back to the second century AD. A Roman ruler Hadrian wanted to get rid of any Jewish identity so he renamed the land Palestina after Israel's ancient foes the Philistines. The term Palestine surfaced in 1948 when Israel was declared a nation.

The name Palestinian was rarely used until the 1960's and 1970's. Then Yassar Arafat became Chairman of the Palestinian Labor Organization with a goal of legitimizing the Philistines with the cause of liberating Palestine through armed struggle against Israel.

There has never been a "Palestinian People" as a distinct group. This is a fabrication of terms used by Arabs to identify people who occupy the Gaza Strip, West Bank and parts of Israel. These people are Arabs from Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.

They Are Arabs Who Live In Israel, This Is The Truth!

"The Big Lie"

A report in the news recently announced that 136 nations recognize a Palestinian State. These nations have a population of 5.5 billion people. Nations not participating in this false narrative are the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and most of the European countries.

Please notice the title of our message today. What was reported in our first paragraph is a clear example of what is referred to as "The Big Lie" which means if you tell the same lie over and over again people will eventually start believing it is true. In this case, Israel is accused of occupying land belonging to the Palestinians. This is totally false and cannot be found anywhere in the Word of our Lord God!

Genesis 15:18 illustrates our Lord speaking to Abraham, "To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates." Our Lord God gave almost the whole Middle East to His Covenant People. Additionally in Ezekiel 36:24,28 our Lord says, "For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. . .then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God."

Another headline in the news this past week said, "Pope Francis Establishes Treaty With The State Of Palestine." There exists today no such entity as a Palestinian State. At the same time, Pope Francis referred to Palestinian leader Malmoud Abbas as an "Agent of Peace." This is the same Abbas who daily orchestrates terrorists attacks against Israeli citizens and trains small children to be terrorists.

In reality, we should not be that surprised by all of this, as these are examples of the current days and times. Psalm 2:2-6 say, "The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against The Lord and against His anointed, saying 'let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.' He who sits in the Heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion." Our Lord God is still in control . . . Hallelujah!

Arab Leaders Rejection

This week the leaders of almost every Arab country in the Middle East rejected an invitation from the United States Government to come to Camp David to discuss the proposed nuclear deal with Iran. The only Arab countries to accept the invitation were Kuwait and Qatar. This scenario is a very bold statement!

There is very strong evidence of serious concerns in the Middle East that the proposed nuclear deal with Iran gives them exactly what they want and fails to confirm that their nuclear capability is halted. If you recall, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the U.S. Congress sharing his concerns for Israel and the whole world with many in the Arab world supportive of his address. Now the message appears to be very clear! The Arab Gulf States led by Saudi Arabia don't trust the Western agenda in proposing this nuclear deal or their ability to negotiate with Iran.

We, who love and support Israel, need to pray each day for this proposed nuclear deal to fall apart but also to speak out boldly and enthusiastically! Contact your Congressional Representatives and share with your relatives, friends, neighbors, etc.

Six million Jews died during the Holocaust because nobody spoke out against it or did anything to stop it. Guilty was the Christian Church, the United States Government, and the other countries in Europe. The Jewish people cry out boldly, "Never Again" concerning another event happening similar to the Holocaust. Let us also repeat this declaration with our prayers and actions.

Concern For Northern Borders

Hezbullah is a terror organization in Southern Lebanon which has a goal of someday attacking and destroying Israel. The Israeli Defense Forces stopped an attempted Hezbullah attack in the Northern Golan Heights this past April 26th and conducted air strikes against military targets in Syria on April 21st and April 24th. The air attacks destroyed weapons being stored in Syria prior to their transfer to Hezbullah in Lebanon. It was also learned this week Hezbullah is recruiting children as young as 8 years old and training them to be armed Jihadists.

Although some of Israel's actions are carried out in Syria, their policy is to avoid taking sides in the Syrian conflict. At the same time, Israel supports suffering Syrian people with humanitarian aid and with medical assistance in the border region. They hope to strengthen the more moderate elements of the opponents of the Assad Regime.

In reality, Israel's main concern is with the threat of Hezbullah knowing they are supported by Iran. Probably, the next war Israel will encounter is known as "The Psalm 83 War" or "The Middle East War." Psalm 83:2-7 say, "For behold, your enemies make an uproar, and those who hate you have exalted themselves. They make shrewd plans against your people, and conspire together against your treasured ones. They have said, 'Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more' for they have conspired together with one mind; against You they make a covenant: The tents of Edom. . .with the inhabitants of Tyre."

Notice as part of the attacking forces against Israel are "Tents of Edom and inhabitants of Tyre." The Edomites are descendants of Esau or current day Arabs and Tyre is located in Southern Lebanon. Thus, the current major concerns among Israeli leaders about activities along its Northern borders.

However, our Lord God is still on His Throne and still in control! Isaiah 34:5,8 says, "For My Sword is satiated in Heaven, Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom and upon the people I have devoted to destruction. For The Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion." Our Lord God will punish Arabs lusting after the land promised to the Israelites many centuries ago. Israel needs our constant and fervent prayers eliciting God's Hand Of Protection.

A Heart Of Compassion

Last Saturday morning a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, the death toll has climbed to over 5,000. There are still many residents missing and homeless, possibly located under the ruins of buildings. Even before the earthquake, Nepal was considered a poverty stricken country.

Israel has responded immediately with compassion, aid and hands-on assistance. Numerous Israelis are in Nepal to help in the search and rescue efforts and provide medical treatment and other support to victims. Approximately 240 Israeli Defense Force personnel are involved in searching for survivors. Medical personnel have set up a Field Hospital in the capital of Nepal to treat 200 patients per day.

Israel has a long tradition of rushing to the aid of those in need. Regardless of where disaster strikes, Israelis are often the first to respond. The list of natural disasters in which Israel has responded is impressive: Earthquake in Haiti, 2010; Typhoon in the Philippines, 2013; Earthquake in Japan, 2011; Earthquake in Myanmar, 2011; Hurricane Katrina in USA, 2005; Tsunami in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, 2004.

An important and interesting side note - Israel is possibly due for a major earthquake as on the average of every 80 to 100 years  an earthquake of 6 or more on the Richter Scale has occurred. The last one took place in 1927. Is this prophetic? Ezekiel 38:19 shows our Lord God ending the Battle of Gog and Magog with a "Great Earthquake."

Israel responding quickly and with compassion to disasters and to people in extreme need is a wonderful example for all of us. Isaiah 58:6,7,10 our Lord God raises the question, "Is this not the fast that I have chosen. . .Is it not to share your bread with the hungry. . .when you see the naked, that you cover him. . .if you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness?"

Israel's Holocaust Remembrance Day

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke last Wednesday night at Yad Vashen to start the Holocaust Remembrance Day that would take place on the next day. All of our message this week is taken directly from his "Kickoff" speech.

Netanyahu connected lessons learned from the Holocaust with Israel today. Iran, he said, is the twenty-first century version of Hitler's Germany and Radical Islam is its version of Nazi ideology. He drew direct parallels between world attempts to appease Hitler in the 1930's and the attempts to appease Iran today. He raised the question, "Has the world learned a lesson about the futility of appeasing a ruthless regime with global ambitions? I wish I could tell you the answer is yes. Just as the Nazis aspired to crush civilization and establish a 'master race' while annihilating the Jewish people, so today does Iran."

The Israeli Prime Minister went on to point out, "All Iran is doing is in broad daylight in front of cameras, yet the blindness of world leaders and the worldly media is immense." He quoted from Isaiah, "For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples." World powers ignore those in Iran that shout, death to America; death to Israel. Worldly leaders also say nothing about wholesale executions and the arming of terrorists by Iran.

Netanyahu did attempt to bring in some hope pointing out Israel's developing alliances with Saudia Arabia and Egypt but added, "If we are compelled to stand alone, we will not be afraid. We will keep our resolve to defend ourselves. The nation of Israel that has risen from the Holocaust is ready for any challenge."

We also who put our hope in our Lord God can be encouraged by Chapter 2 of Isaiah which describes "The Day Of The Lord" that appears to be approaching rapidly. "Now it shall come to pass in the latter days, that the mountain of The Lord's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, come, and let us go up to the mountain of our Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of The Lord from Jerusalem. O house of Jacob, come and let us walk in the light of The Lord." Isaiah 2:2,3,5.

A Coincidence?

April 1st, the President of the United States announced a "Framework" nuclear agreement with Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu immediately warned that this will threaten the very existence of Israel. However, the significance of the date needs a much closer look.

On the Jewish calendar for this year, April 1st coincided with Nisan 13, the date in history when King Ahasuerus of Persia signed an agreement for the destruction of the Jews in his country. President Obama made his announcement on the very same day of the month that King Ahasuerus and his leaders had previously come together to issue their statement. This historical reference comes from Mark Bilz, Pastor of El-Shaddai Ministries in Bonney Lake, Washington.

Is this just a mere coincidence or is our Lord God showing us something very important from His perspective? Author Joel Richardson states, "The God of Heaven and earth frequently orchestrates world events in such a way to demonstrate His perspective. It is the cynic that dismisses the possibility of a Divine hint as a mere coincidence. I think we need to be looking at this very seriously."

Iran does not recognize Israel's right to exist. Their leaders have said they will burn Tel Aviv. One nuclear weapon would wipe out this city of 400,000 people. Additionally, news reports within the last few days report that Russia has decided to sell to Iran defensive missiles.

How do we, who love and pray for Israel, respond to such reports as these? I believe we need to be on our knees more than ever and pray more powerfully and effectively with wisdom from our Lord God. Proverbs 4:1,5,7 say, "Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding. . .Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. . .Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding."
