Good News!

Each week our message seems to have a negative connotation concerning the Jewish people and Israel. This is happening because the whole purpose of our message each week is to inform and encourage prayer for Israel as anti-semitism is on the rise throughout the world. Today, we will share some good news so do not be discouraged . . . continue praying!

There are two countries in Europe taking steps of repentance toward the Jewish people. Spain expelled 300,000 Jewish refugees in 1492 under the leadership of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. Currently, a proposed Sephardic Ancestry Bill is offering citizenship to 3.5 million Jews around the world whose ancestors were forced to leave Spain. Portugal has already passed a similar bill.

Additionally, a group of 200 British Christians want to apologize to the Jewish people for the way their government turned back Jewish refugees 70 years ago. The British government prevented thousands of Jewish refugees from landing in Israel because of immigration quotas. In effect, Britain ignored  its own Balfour Declaration of 1917 promising to help establish a home for the Jewish people.

Between 1938 and 1948 Britain prevented more than 90 ships from landing at Haifa. Those people turned away were put in camps in Cyprus or even returned to camps in Germany. Lord Simon Isaacs hopes the British government will admit its mistakes in time for the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration in 2017.

Our Lord God has not abandoned His original covenant people and He never will. These two reports are an example in the middle of all the anti-semitism in Europe. They are also examples of our Lord God responding to the prayers offered world wide on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people.

 Keep On Praying . . . Keep On Praying . . . Hallelujah!

A Lesson From History

"I Will Bless Those Who Bless You,
And I Will Curse Him Who Curses You"
Genesis 12:3

This verse was said by God to Abraham as He was establishing the Abrahamic Covenant. In effect, our Lord God was saying He will bestow blessings upon those who bless the Jewish people and curses upon those who curse them.

Groups of Christians who support Israel are currently investigating what is known as The Genesis 12:3 Effect. This school of thought believes the 1929 Great Depression was a divine punishment for the United States Immigration Policy that effectively trapped large numbers of the Jewish people in Eastern Europe.

The United States immigration policy in the 1920's dramatically limited immigration after World War I. These limits extensively  hurt Jews in Eastern Europe desiring to leave. If the United States doors had remained open could the lives of Jewish people been different? Was the Great Depression a curse God sent upon the United States as a consequence of their action taken against the Jews?

Is this "Genesis 12:3 Effect" an issue today? How is the United States government treating Israel and the Jewish people today? How will they treat them in the future? What can we who support the Jewish people and Israel do and say? Of course we need to pray but we can also contact our Congressional Representatives. The Word of our Lord God is not something to ignore or discount. This has been proven over and over again in history and many books have been written in this regard.

Trust In The Lord

Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in The Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;" Psalm 37:3 "Trust in The Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness;" Psalm 22:8 "He trusted in The Lord, let Him rescue him; let Him deliver him, since He delights in him!" The Lord brought to mind all these verses about trusting in The Lord as I heard about current scenarios threatening Israel. I do not think we who live in places other than Israel can fully comprehend the challenges the Israeli government faces each day to protect their citizens. They need our prayers each day!

A headline on the Israel Today web site announced this week, "Worse than Hamas? ISIS in Gaza." Located in Gaza are Salafi Groups that are part of ISIS offering a more radical version of Islam, which is hard to understand. Salafi Groups have even started lobbing rockets into Southern Israel. They also believe the only way to end the Israeli occupation is through purification and a war against Israel referred to as Jihad.

Additionally and of the same mindset, a Hamas official announces, "Armed resistance against Israel is not negotiable." The Hamas official, Al-Zahhar, went on to state, "The Islamic Resistance Movement refuses a Palestinian State within the 1948 or 1967 territories. Our policy is Palestine, all of Palestine." Their intentions and goals are very clear and now ISIS is part of the total movement.

Let It Be Said Of Israel And The Jewish People

They Trust In The Lord!

"Biblical Framework"

An article in the Dispatch From Jerusalem magazine had the above mentioned title. It's first sentence stated, "The nation of Israel's existence, identity and purpose are defined by the Bible." In clearly defining who is the rightful inhabitant of the land of Israel, is there a better source than the Word of our Lord God?

Speaking to the United Nations General Assembly in 2013, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said the following, "Israel's existence and prosperity today is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. In our time, Biblical prophecies have been realized. As the Prophet Amos said, 'They shall rebuild ruined cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine; they shall till gardens and eat their fruit. And I will plant them upon their soil, never to be uprooted again.'"

Let me repeat strongly and enthusiastically the last sentence of Amos 9:15. Our Lord God clearly points out He will place His Covenant People, "Upon their own soil, no more to be uprooted." This is happening right before our eyes as Jewish people from all over the world are moving back to their God given land.

Israel was prophetically reborn in May, 1948 through United Nations Resolution 181 establishing a Jewish State per Genesis 15:18. One day later the enemies of Israel waged war against this new nation ordained by God. The Islamic World waged war against Israel because it rejected Israel's Biblical origin and Biblical narrative. This same war continues currently and will continue until the King of Kings and Lord of Lords establishes His Eternal Kingdom here on earth per Zechariah 14:9.

Even So, Come Lord Jesus, Come Soon!
