Current Day Israel - Part Two

This message will begin our study of Romans 9-11. Paul is the author of Romans having the primary message of attaining righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. However, the majority of God's Covenant People have not attained this righteousness. This is the main subject of these chapters but there is a God Ordained ending to this story: 

"All Israel Will Be Saved."

Romans 9:1-3 says, "I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh."

These opening verses of Romans 9 are entitled "Paul's Sorrow." Paul is explaining that he has great sorrow and grief in his heart for his brethren, the Jews. Why is this so? His brethren have not attained righteousness! Praise The Lord for Paul and his love and concern for his "Unsaved  Brothers and Sisters." Every time I read Romans 1-3, I realize I have a long way to go to attain this same type of love for unsaved people. 

Then Paul defines his brethren in Romans 9:4 "Who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenant, the giving of the law, the service of God and the promises." Paul answers the question of who are the Israelites by describing all that Jehovah God provided for them to empower them to be His Chosen People. What exactly were they chosen to accomplish for Almighty God? Isaiah 44:1,8 declares, "Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen . . . do not fear, nor be afraid; have I not told you from that time and declared it? You Are My Witnesses!" 

Jehovah God chose the Jewish People to be His Witnesses worldwide  proclaiming He Is Lord, Redeemer, God! However, throughout Israel's history there has been a hindrance preventing His Chosen People from completing this task. This is the primary theme throughout Romans 9-11. Stay Tuned!

Current Day Israel

We are starting a new series revolving around the current atmosphere in Israel and how this affects God's Chosen People. Romans 9-11 will be our primary reference scriptures meaning this will be a vitally important and lengthy series. The timing of this series is appropriate now so that we may pray most effectively for Israel. 

It is truly challenging to understand the current alignment of the Israeli Government. Over the last couple of years, Israel held many elections since no one attained the majority support of the numerous parties necessary to be elected Prime Minister. As a result, it was decided that candidates Bennett and Lapid would split time as Prime Minister over the next eight years. The main reason for concern is neither appears to be as strong against the threat of Iran as the previous Prime Minister Netanyahu.

 God Ordained Decisions!

Ever since Israel was formed as a nation in 1948, they have had enemies in their midst and on their borders. We hear almost daily about terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens. Gaza is on Israel's southwest border and is controlled by the terror group Hamas firing rockets into Israel on a regular basis. Lebanon is on Israel's northern border that is controlled by the terror group Hezbullah having thousands of missiles pointed at Israel. Syria is on the northeast border which houses Russian troops. All these enemies of Israel are funded by Iran. 

Please Pray For God's Protection Of Israel!

God's Covenant People are not only attacked physically and verbally in Israel, it is also happening worldwide. There are places in Europe where the Jewish people are fearful about leaving their homes. This is also taking place in the United States especially in New York City and Los Angeles. Worshippers were attacked in Synagogues in Pittsburgh and rural Texas. Some Jewish men have stopped wearing their skull caps. 

Please Pray For God's Protection Of His People Worldwide!

In closing, let us address the horrendous events in Ukraine. As usual, world media and governments are somehow trying to involve Israel. This is completely false information! The only possible connection is that Israel is offering humanitarian assistance. Also, Prime Minister Bennett is the Mediator trying to bring about a peace settlement between Ukraine and Russia.

The Future Restoration Of Israel - Part Seven

This message will conclude our series about Jehovah God restoring Israel. We have learned God is partially restoring Israel and that the total restoration will take place when Jesus Christ physically returns to earth. Our scripture references have been Ezekiel 36 - 39. We at For Zion's Sake Ministry are in awe of the relationship and coordination of God's Word. Our Lord God actually summarizes the Restoration of Israel in the last four verses of Ezekiel 39.

The First Summary Message Is Ezekiel 39:23

"The Gentiles shall know that the House Of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity." God's Covenant People have been disobedient to Him starting after He gave them His Law through Moses at Mt. Sinai. As a result, God scattered them around the world.

The Second Summary Message Is Ezekiel 39:25

"Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel." Jehovah God is in the process of bringing the Whole House Of Israel back home. Each year more Israelis return to Israel than the previous year. Very Important, notice He will bring back all of His people - "The Whole House Of Israel." What A Mighty God We Serve!

The Third Summary Message Is Ezekiel 39:28

"Then they shall know that I am The Lord their God." Multiple times in God's Word we learn that He intervenes in a situation so that His perfect purpose can be accomplished. Why does He do this? So that all the people of the world will know "He Is The Lord Their God." Obviously this is always most important to our God!

The Final Summery Message Is Ezekiel 39:29

"And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the House of Israel." How will He accomplish this most important act? Zechariah 14:4 says Jesus upon returning to earth is standing on the Mount of Olives and His People "Recognize Him as the one they have pierced." (Zechariah 12:10).The Whole House Of Israel Will Be Saved At That Moment!

The Future Restoration Of Israel - Part Six

Our current series has been investigating how Jehovah God is in the process of partially restoring Israel and the total restoration will happen when Jesus Christ returns to earth as mentioned in Revelation 19. This message will address Ezekiel 38, 39 describing the Battle Of Gog And Magog.

This Battle has been mentioned in connection with the events in the Ukraine. What is the Battle Of Gog And Magog and when will it happen? In Ezekiel 38, 39 our Lord God is talking to Gog through Ezekiel and it is believed that Gog is the leader of Russia. Gog is being instructed to lead a coalition of nations to invade Israel. The reason this Battle is being mentioned is that the Ukraine is one of the invading nations.

Please notice that the timing of this Battle is not to be considered immediate. It is believed it will take place during the first few years of the seven year Tribulation Period. We need to look carefully at Ezekiel 38:11 saying "You will say, 'I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people.'" God is instructing Gog to invade Israel when their people are living in peace with unwalled villages. This does not describe current day Israel!

During the early years of the Tribulation Period, the Anti-Christ establishes a Peace Treaty with Israel. He even allows them to rebuild their Temple on the Temple Mount. At least temporarily, there will be peace in Israel setting the stage for the Battle Of Gog And Magog.

You might question why would Jehovah God allow this to happen? At this point we need to understand that Jehovah God totally and completely wins this Battle for Israel! Ezekiel 38:21, 22 says "I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains . . . And I will bring him to judgement with pestilence and bloodshed." What A Mighty God We Serve!

In closing, it is critically important to clarify the reason God will bring this Battle into existence. Ezekiel 38:23 says, "Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am The Lord." In fact, Jehovah God makes the following  declaration seven times in Ezekiel 38, 39:

So That The Nations Will Know I Am The Lord!

The Future Restoration Of Israel - Part Five

We are studying how Jehovah God is in the process of partially restoring Israel and that total restoration will take place when Jesus Christ returns to earth. The last few verses of Ezekiel 37 shows how God is partially restoring Israel: 

I will deliver them from all their dwelling places - Verse 23

I will cleanse them - Verse 23

Then they shall dwell in the land given to Jacob - Verse 25

I will make a Covenant of Peace with them - Verse 26

Additionally, at the end of Ezekiel 37, God starts describing how He will restore Israel TOTALLY. Verse 26 shows God saying, "I will set My sanctuary in their midst forever." It is important for us to notice that God will establish His sanctuary in their midst FOREVER.

How and when will this happen? Revelation 21 is a description of the New Jerusalem coming down to earth. Verse 3 describes John hearing a voice from Heaven saying, "And I heard a loud voice from Heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men and He will dwell with them and they shall be His people and God Himself will be with them and be their God.'" This is a confirmation of Ezekiel 37:26 that says God's Sanctuary or Tabernacle will be among His People Israel and He will be with them FOREVER. 

In closing, Ezekiel 37:28 says, "The nations also will know that I, The Lord, sanctify Israel." God is saying the nations of the world will know He Has Restored Israel. How will they know? Zechariah 14:16 says, "And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of Hosts and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles." All the nations will come to worship God at the Feast of Tabernacles. Bless His Holy Name!
