"He Is My Refuge And My Fortress"

This week, just prior to the start of a new calendar year, many people reflect on the events of the previous year. Some make resolutions or commitments addressing areas of their lives that they desire to change or improve during the upcoming calendar year.

As the Jewish people and the leaders of Israel go through this process, they will find much to be concerned about. In a review of the previous year, they will find that Anti-Semitism is at its highest level since WWII especially in Western Europe and the Middle East.

A Partial List Of Anti-Semitic Happenings In 2014

The Nazi salute has surfaced on TV shows and the internet
Jewish businesses were boycotted and sanctioned
Ukraine Jewish families had to register their real estate
Hamas and Palestinian Authority formed one government
20,000 Pro-Palestinian people demonstrated in Paris
3,000 rockets slammed into Southern Israel
Terrorists killed three Rabbis in a Jerusalem Synagogue

In making commitments for the upcoming year, how will the Jewish people and we who support them respond to all of this? A suggestion would be to commit to spending more time before the Throne Room Of God in prayer, supplication and wailing. Psalm 91 is titled "Abiding In The Shadow Of The Almighty." Verses 1,2,9,10,11 say, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of The Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust. Because you have made The Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your habitation, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways."

We can proclaim these verses for God's protection of the Jewish people and ourselves in 2015. God's people, Jew and Gentile, need this protection!

May The Lord Bless And Keep You This Day And Each Day,

"Prince of Peace"

Isaiah 9:6 says, "For Unto Us A Child Is Born, Unto Us A Son Is Given; And The Government Will Be Upon His Shoulder. And His Name Will Be Called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince Of Peace." This verse of God's Word prophesies of the most important birth in the history of mankind. This event of God becoming man in Jesus Christ is called the Incarnation. This miracle was prophesied hundreds of years previously in Isaiah 7:14. Thus Christ, the sinless God-man, was qualified to become our Redeemer (2 Corinthians 5:21).

For our Christmas message, let us concentrate on the Christ-child becoming our Prince of Peace. I doubt many would disagree when I say we desperately need the Prince of Peace in our everyday lives. Within the past couple of weeks, little children were assassinated in Pakistan for proclaiming their Christian faith; two New York City policeman were shot to death in their squad car and Hamas just fired a rocket into Southern Israel. All this will continue and will even increase until The Prince of Peace comes back to earth and . . . Every Knee Shall Bow And Every Tongue Confess That Jesus Christ Is Lord.

However, we can experience The Prince of Peace now in our everyday lives. John 14:23, 27  illustrates Jesus saying "If anyone loves me, he will keep My Word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to Him and make our home with Him." Also, Jesus continues, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Yes, we can experience this glorious peace from The Prince of Peace each day as we Worship and Praise Him; Repent of our sins; Present our prayers and petitions and sit at His feet and listen. Be encouraged children of God, and have a Blessed and Merry Christmas.

"Be Glad And Rejoice"

This past Tuesday at sundown, the Jewish people throughout the world started their celebration of the Feast of Hanukkah. The traditions of Hanukkah include the lighting each night of one candle of an eight-branched Menorah. Thus Hanukkah is known as the Festival of Lights.

The drama of Hanukkah begins with Alexander The Great during the fourth century, BC who had conquered the world by the age of 23. Several generations later, Antiochus Epiphanes, who ruled from Syria, had military control over Jerusalem. Antiochus had Jerusalem's High Priest murdered and set up a statue of Jupiter on the Temple Mount.

An old priest named Mattathias became angry and fled to the nearby mountains with his sons to prepare to wage warfare against the oppressors from Syria. Mattathias put his son Judah in charge and they defeated every attempt by Antiochus to end their uprising. Judah led his followers to Jerusalem where he drove the Syrian force from the Temple and out of the city.

Upon arriving at the Temple, they found inside the Temple a huge Menorah. The rejoicing Jewish conquerors found only enough oil to light the Menorah for one day. Levitical Laws stated that the Temple Menorah must burn continually. The miracle of Hanukkah is that our Lord God provided enough oil to cause the Menorah to be lit for the entire eight days.

What does this mean for us? Hanukkah is a story of overcoming in the face of overwhelming adversity. Our lesson from this holiday is that we can overcome with our God. Zephaniah 3:19 says, "Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you." Our Lord God has dealt with our oppressors in the past, is dealing with them in the present and will deal with them in the future. As a result, Zephaniah 3:14 also says, "Sing, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!"

Israeli Style Democracy

Israel is the only country in the Middle East to function as a democracy. However, their method of democracy is very different and is referred to as a Parliamentary Democracy. Israel's Parliament, the Knesset, can be dissolved before completing its four year term. Political parties are elected to the Knesset and there are 13 parties currently represented. The elected parties appoint members to the Knesset and each party receives a number of Knesset members based on general election results.

After the Knesset is elected, Israel's President identifies one party to form a coalition. The leader of that party then becomes the Prime Minister and he works to form a coalition and then the Knesset votes its approval. If at any point, the Prime Minister cannot continue a coalition of support, the government is dissolved and new elections are necessary. This happened last week and elections are set for March 17, 2015.

Prime Minister Netanyahu hopes that going to the polls will deliver a government with less internal opposition. Surveys indicate a plurality of voters would choose Netanyahu's Likud Party in the upcoming election.

A major concern for Israel and those who love Israel is will the splintered government function effectively over the next two months with all the current challenges in place. Hamas is rebuilding tunnels for its next attack; ISIS plans to attack and destroy Israel; Iran is close to having nuclear weapons; terror attacks in Israel have increased recently; and riots are common on the Temple Mount and in East Jerusalem. Also there are parties in favor of "Giving Up The Land" that desire to gain control of the government.

Israel needs our prayers desperately right now. We know there are those who want an Israeli government who will give in to the demands of their enemies. However, Isaiah 62:7 encourages us to pray continually for our Lord's control and protection over Jerusalem, "You who make mention of The Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth." Let us take these verses to heart and pray accordingly and continually.

May The Lord Bless You And Keep You In His Care,

"A Blessing"

Genesis 12:3 says, "And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." This extremely important verse of Scripture illustrates our Lord God speaking to Abraham as part of establishing the Abrahamic Covenant showing that The Lord desires for the Jewish people to be a blessing to all peoples of the earth. This has been illustrated by the Jewish people over and over again in the past and in the present. For example, the Jewish people have been the recipients of 22% of all Nobel Peace Prizes while making up only 2% of the world's population. Israel is always one of the first countries responding to help during disasters.

The tactics of the Israeli Defense Forces during the recent Gaza War also is a prime example. Medical tents were established at the Gaza border to actually treat injured citizens of Gaza. The I.D.F. did all they could do to avoid any casualties within the citizenship of Gaza.

This so far has been a little bit of a history lesson since I know I have covered these concepts in other blogs. However, in today's message I want to share how the Israelis function among themselves in Israel and especially during the Gaza War. We need to first realize that the population of Israel is annually rated among the happiest, healthiest and most educated in the world. Life expectancy in Israel significantly exceeds America's and that of most European countries. Unemployment is low, the economy is robust.

During the duration of the Gaza War, youth movements, Synagogues, businesses and individual citizens sent food and supplies to the soldiers in Gaza. They also visited wounded soldiers, sent food to bomb shelters and visited bomb shelters to entertain and play with the children. A major concern among Israeli citizens was to reach out to what was known as "Lone Soldiers" meaning those who have no family in Israel. Israelis went out of their way to visit these soldiers in hospitals and to attend their funerals.

Yes, God's Chosen People have taken their calling to be a blessing to all peoples of the earth seriously. However, another very important part of Genesis 12:3 is for us which states, "I will bless those who bless you." We can do this with our continual and fervent prayers for God to take care of them and protect them.

Prayers Of Thanksgiving

"Make a joyful shout to The Lord, all you lands! Serve The Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know that The Lord, He is good; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with Thanksgiving. and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." Psalm 100.

This Psalm is titled "A Psalm of Thanksgiving." It teaches us much about having a heart and mind of thanksgiving toward our loving and caring God not just one Thursday each year but everyday. Proclaiming this Psalm each day will illustrate a heart full of thanksgiving for our Lord God.

Verse One Says, "Make A Joyful Shout To The Lord." The Israelites, as they march around the walls of Jericho, shouted to The Lord with a voice of triumph and the walls came tumbling down. . . Lord, touch our hearts to shout words of triumph unto You each day in every situation.

Verse Two Says, "Serve The Lord With Gladness." The place to be happy is here and the time to be happy is now. . . Lord, grant us hearts and minds of happiness unto You each day.

Verse Three Says, "Know That The Lord He Is God." Before we can have any real joy, we have to recognize the authority of God in our lives. . . Lord, give us a heart and mind attitude of knowing you as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Verse Four Says, "Enter His Gates With Thanksgiving." Prior to approaching our Lord God, we must have hearts of repentance and thanksgiving. . .Lord, turn our hearts into hearts of reverence unto You.

Verse Five Says, "For The Lord Is Good." We need to acknowledge each day that everything good in our lives is a love gift from Our Lord God. . .Lord, give us hearts of unconditional love, joy and thanksgiving unto You each day.

May The Lord Bless You And Keep You In His Care Each Day,

Standing With Israel

Our Lord God numerous times in His Word illustrates for us, as Born Again Christians, that we are "indebted" to His original chosen people, the Jewish people. Romans 9:4-5 says, "Who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God." Additionally, Romans 15:27 says, "For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things." On this subject, we need to acknowledge and realize any financial support for Israel and the Jewish people are "offerings" in addition to our tithes to our local churches.

If you are looking for a ministry to support, let me recommend Bridges For Peace which is headquartered in Jerusalem and I personally have been involved with this ministry for 20 years. Bridges For Peace just celebrated 50 years of standing firm with Israel. Their stated mission is "Christians supporting Israel and building relationships between Christians and Jews in Israel and around the world." They have offices in nine countries and they take an uncompromising stand against anti-semitism.

Bridges For Peace participates in numerous acts of tangible support. These efforts include assistance for new immigrants to Israel including monthly food supplies to 28,000 people in fifty communities throughout Israel. They also contribute to the safety of Israelites with donating bomb shelters and ambulances. This week they dedicated two fully equipped ambulances to Israel's emergency provider, Magen David Adom.

Working with Israel's Social Workers and Government Agencies, Bridges For Peace is Israel's unconditional friend. For more information on how to get involved, contact bridgesforpeace.com  Always remember, Genesis 12:3 says, "I will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel."

"I Am Zealous For Zion"

Unfortunately, Iran is back in the news and, as expected, it is not good news for Israel. Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, exclaimed on November 8th "This barbaric, wolf-like and infanticide regime of Israel which spares no crime has no cure but to be annihilated. The only means to confront a barbaric regime like Israel is arming the Palestinians."

This is the anti-Israel rhetoric coming out of the East but there is also negative news about Israel coming from the West by way of the European Union. The European Union's new Foreign Affairs Chief, Federica Mogherini, visited Israel this weekend. She insisted on the urgent need for a Palestinian State with the Eastern half of Jerusalem as its capital. "This is the position of all of the European Union," she proclaimed. Since when does the European Union determine the borders of Israel?

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu responded once again stating that "Jerusalem is our capital and as such is not a settlement. The neighborhoods in which we are living and we have been building, have been there for close to fifty years. Everybody knows that in any Peace Agreements they will remain part of Israel." A majority of Jews insist Jerusalem must never again be divided.

Our Lord God proclaims in Zechariah 8:2,3,7,8,15 "I am zealous for Zion with great zeal; with great fervor I am zealous for her. . .I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. . .behold I will save My People from the land of the East, and from the land of the West; I will bring them back, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. . .I am determined to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do Not Fear."

"Jerusalem, Jerusalem. . ."

"Jerusalem, Jerusalem Lift Up Your Gates And Sing, Hosanna In The Highest, Hosanna To Our King." This is the start of a glorious worship song about Jerusalem and when the King of Kings and Lord of Lords returns to earth and stands on the Mount of Olives, Zechariah 14:4. Jerusalem is the holiest of cities on earth for the Jewish people and Christians and the third holiest for Muslims and is always a center of turmoil especially within the last couple of weeks.

A Palestinian last week shot and nearly killed Rabbi Glick in Jerusalem. Glick advocates for the right of Jews to pray atop the Temple Mount. He is the head of Halica the Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount. They are for religious freedom for Jews and non-Muslims on the Temple Mount not pushing for the removal of Muslims.

As a result, an emergency meeting was held by the Internal Affairs and Environment Committee on November 2nd in which the Chief of  Police said "Even if we have to bring a large number of forces, we will protect the right of those going up to the Temple Mount." Jerusalem Mayor Barkat added "We will not tolerate the throwing of stones, we must protect the status quo on the Temple Mount and we must fight against those who want to disrupt it.

Continuing the current narrative about Jerusalem especially the Temple Mount, Israeli Representative to the United Nations Ron Prossor addressed the U.N. on October 29th. Following are excerpts from his remarks, "The people of Israel are not occupiers and not settlers. Israel is our home and Jerusalem is the eternal capital of our sovereign state. The Holy City is named more than 900 times in the Bible. The Temple Mount is Judaism's Holiest Place. Today a Jew who wishes to visit the sacred site is threatened with violence."

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in The Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians 6:10-11. We, as born again Christians, need to fight the spiritual battle every day but also can stand strong for Israel and Jerusalem at the same time. Amen!

The Battle Continues

The Gaza War has been over for a number of weeks and unless we have been keeping up with events in Israel on a daily basis, we could be deceived into believing Israel's enemies are quiet for the time being. Nothing could be farther from the truth!

"Jerusalem is under attack," declared Israeli's Prime Minister Netanyahu the day after a terrorist plowed through a crowd of Israelis at a light rail station last week. The attack was carried out by a Palestinian who was a supporter of Hamas. A baby just three months old died two hours later and an Ecuadorian woman, age 22, also died. Eight others were injured.

Equally disturbing, Palestinian riots have been raging in Jerusalem since last May; there has been numerous cases of vandalism to Jerusalem's light rail trains; plus continuous cases of stone throwing, Molotov cocktail attacks and sniper fire on cars, buildings and people. Riots have become frequent on and around the Temple Mount. During the same period, 107 Israeli policemen have been injured and just this week there is a report of a Rabbi being attacked.

No, Israeli's enemies are not on vacation and their goal of destroying Israel and its people has not changed. However, Isaiah 2:2-4 declares, "Now it shall come to pass in the latter days, that the mountain of The Lord's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, 'Come, and let us go up to the mountain of The Lord, to the house of The God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.' For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of The Lord from Jerusalem. He shall judge between the nations, and shall rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore."

Our Lord God's Word Validates

The Day Of The Lord Is Coming When Our Lord Will Reign Over All The Earth Resulting In True Peace. Come Lord Jesus, Come, Come Soon!

Israel's Support Around The World

Jerusalem's Watchmen Prayer update last week included encouraging reports from around the globe of large groups gathering in support of Israel. "A Day Of Prayer For The Peace Of Jerusalem" was announced and two hundred nations responded. Thousands of people took Genesis 12:3 seriously and literally, stating that we are to "Bless Israel." Hallelujah!

Witness The Following Reports

Denmark - For the first time, prayers for Israel were lifted up in the capital.
South Africa - Day Of Prayer For The Peace Of Jerusalem was celebrated in Johannesburg.
India - A prayer gathering in Samalkot included a Jewish dance.
The Philippines - Representatives of the Israeli Embassy addressed the crowd.
Czech Republic - Prayer meeting was transmitted live throughout Czech radio.
Zambia - Six hundred believers prayed for prosperity for Jerusalem.
Tanzania - 1,650 Christians in one accord prayed for Israel.
Papua New Guinea - Believers marched to church with banners proclaiming Psalm 122:6.
South Korea - Dr. Young Hoon Lee's church gathering included up to 50,000 people praying for the "Peace of Jerusalem."

These testimonies from all over the world are just a few examples of God's people obeying His word in support of Israel. I pray for all of us to be bold, under The Lord's guidance and direction, to work toward similar events happening in our corner of the world. Praise The Lord!

Israel And The Church

Israeli United Nations Ambassador Prosor on October 8th wrote a letter to the President of the United Nations Security Council. He pointed out that on Tuesday, October 7th two Israeli soldiers were seriously injured when three explosive devices were detonated in Northern Israel. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the planting of the devices. Prosor went on to state "I cannot be expected to stand by as Israel's citizens are continually put at risk and will not accept any attacks on its territory." The government of Israel holds the government of Lebanon responsible.

How ironic! Just weeks after the Gaza War ended, there have been a number of dangerous incidents on Israel's Northern border where the Civil War in Syria has spilled over into the Golan Heights. We also know Hamas is rebuilding its tunnels and regathering weapons for its next skirmish with Israel. Israel must be on constant alert along all of its borders and constantly contend with the possible threat of a nuclear Iran.

In the October Bridges For Peace Teaching Letter, author Dr. Bill Adams included a section entitled "Israel And The Church: God's Combined Arms Team." Adams stated that non-Jews play a strategic role in the struggles Israel faces every day. Deuteronomy 32:43 states "Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people; for He will avenge the blood of His servants and render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land and His people." We, who are Gentiles, are actually commanded to rejoice in what God accomplishes for His people on His land.

It should not surprise us that the Bible believing church has emerged as the primary Gentile ally of Israel today. While Israel commits her sons and daughters on the ground, Christians engage in the spiritual battle and aid the Jewish people as they move back home to Israel. Christian assistance includes praying, providing tangible help and speaking out in support of Israel. By faith, we "Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem," Psalm 122:6 while looking forward to the day when Israel will "learn war no more." Isaiah 2:4.

Netanyahu - Standing Strong

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was highlighted in the news a number of times this past week. Netanyahu spoke at the United Nations General Assembly and also met with United States President Obama. A fairly positive meeting with Obama ended on a sour note when the Obama Administration strongly criticized the Jewish State after learning of the approval of construction of 2,610 apartments in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Givat Hamatos.

Netanyahu later suggested to reporters that the Obama Administration's position was being discriminatory against the Jewish people. "Arabs in Jerusalem freely buy apartments and nobody says that it is forbidden. There cannot be discrimination between Jews and Arabs," insisted the Prime Minister. Another government official agreed saying, "Discrimination based on religion, race or gender is illegal." Arabs will be free to purchase homes in Givat Hmatos.

There also is speculation that Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations General Assembly appears to put the final nail in the coffin of the "two-state solution." Netanyahu stated clearly Israel is not prepared to repeat the mistakes of the Lebanon and Gaza withdrawals in Judea and Samaria. Deputy Transportation Minister Tzipi Hotovely believes Netanyahu had effectively stated there will never be a Palestinian State on Israel's Biblical Heartland.

Equally important, this past Sunday the Israeli Prime Minister hosted in his home his sixth open Bible study over the past two years. Many of the attendees were Knesset members and included some leading Rabbis. Netanyahu noted there are many in the world today who do not accept Israel's divine appointment to their land and deny their birthright. The Education Minister shared a teaching by Jewish Sage Rashi who taught the Bible begins with Creation to demonstrate the whole world belongs to God and He gives land to whom He will.

Surely Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu trusts God and knows and studies His word. Isaiah 49:15,16 states "Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb?. . .Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me." Our Lord God continually has Israel before Him as an avenue of protection. Praise The Lord!

Anti-Semitism

The United Nations Charter demands "Equality of Nations Large and Small." In reality, the U.N. produces inequality for Jews and the Jewish nation. The U.N. has launched a "Legal Pogrom" against the Jewish State. A "Legal Pogrom" is a license to kill. Modern Anti-Semitism targets Israel's right of self-defense.

Witness the following: 35% of all resolutions of the U.N. Human Rights Council condemn one state - Israel; 50% of emergency special sessions of the U.N. General Assembly over 60 years denounced Israel; The Human Rights Council has a fixed agenda with one item to condemn Israel at every session; 70% of all 2013 General Assembly Resolutions criticizing specific countries were against Israel. The U.N. Division For Palestinians Rights denies entry to public meetings for Jews. This all Anti-Semitism!

In 2004, when Israel targeted Hamas terrorist leader Abdel Aziz Al-Rantissi and there were no civilian casualties, the U.N. still called it a violation of International Law. Yet, Israel had to respond to 8,000 Hamas rockets over ten years and in 2014 Israel responded to 4,382 Hamas rockets and 32 terror tunnels with 14 opening into Israel. Why is the U.N. not having a conference about combating Anti-Semitism? Why is there not an investigation into whether the U.N. is functioning according to its charter?

Isaiah 62:1,7 - "For Zion's Sake I will not remain silent. . .until He establishes Jerusalem as a Praise in the earth." We who love Israel cannot "Remain Silent." During the Holocaust, the Christian church and the government of the United States remained silent. We cannot let this happen again! We must be bold and strong to speak the truth about Israel!

May The Lord Bless You And Keep You This Day And Each Day,

Encouraging Signs

The continuing Palestinian narrative as part of the land-for-peace process is that Israel currently "occupies" a country known as Palestine. The United Nations in 1948 offered side by side states to the Jewish people and the Palestinians - Israel accepted, the Arabs refused. This week the Washington Post acknowledged there is "No Occupied Palestine." This is a step in the right direction since most Western media outlets have painted Israel as the "Occupier of the West Bank" which in reality is Biblical Judea and Samaria.

Former Israeli President Shimon Peres has recently organized a friendly soccer match between Israeli and Palestinian children a week after the Gaza War ended. Make a guess who condemned such a demonstration of peaceful co-existence? It was the Palestinian authorities! The match was very special and important since it included Israeli children from the rocket - battered town of Sderot and Palestinian children from Hebron where three Jewish teens were kidnapped and killed.

Another heart warming story is about a badly wounded 12 year old Syrian boy who rode a donkey to safety in Israel. The boy and an older brother were warmly greeted by Israeli soldiers and transferred to the Ziv Hospital. This is just one story of hundreds of Syrians who have been lovingly received by the same Jews they were taught to hate.

Our Lord God is on the move responding to the millions of prayers offered for Israel and the Middle East as a whole. The Gaza War has ended and ISIS is being addressed by a coalition of 24 countries. There are now hundreds of Messianic Congregations in Israel worshiping Jesus as their Messiah and large numbers of Arabs are receiving Jesus as their Savior many times seeing Jesus in visions. We rarely see reports such as these since all the negative happenings make headlines. Additionally, I watched a video on the internet from a Marine base in California showing hundreds of Marines standing and singing with gusto "These Are The Days Of Elijah." Hallelujah! Let us all continue praying and thanking The Lord for His responses to our prayers.

May The Lord Bless You And Keep You This Day And Each Day,

Four Blood Moons

"And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon and in the stars. . .Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." Luke 21:25,27. The Word of God proclaims there will be signs in the heavens prior to the "Son of Man Coming." We live in such a day and time as 2014 and 2015 that are within a cycle of Four Blood Moons which coincide with our Lord God's Feast Days.

What is a Blood Moon? It happens during a Total Lunar Eclipse and the moon appears blood-red. Single total lunar eclipses are fairly common, however, four consecutive happening on Feast Days are rare. Each time this has happened in history, a significant event has occurred relating to the Jewish people or Israel.

During the Four Blood Moons in 1493 and 1494, two hundred thousand Jews were expelled from Spain when they did not convert to Catholicism. The State of Israel was founded in connection with Four Blood Moons of 1949 and 1950. The Six Day War of 1967 found Jerusalem reunited for the Jewish people and Israel capturing Judea and Samaria, Golan Heights and the Sinai Peninsula. All took place in connection with the Blood Moons of 1967 and 1968.

This brings us to the current cycle of Blood Moons. One has already occurred in connection with Passover, April 15, 2014. The second will occur on the Feast of Tabernacles October 8, 2014; the third on Passover April 4, 2015; the last on Feast of Tabernacles September 28, 2015.

What does all this mean to us? I believe our Lord God is revealing prophetic signs with the current Blood Red Moons cycle and will bless Israel in the process. "And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. . .And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and terrible day of The Lord. . .for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance." Joel 2:28,30,31,32.

Prayer and Fasting

Last week a cease fire was declared between Israel and Hamas which appears to be holding unlike numerous other declarations previously. Also during last week Rabbis in Jerusalem declared a day of prayer and fasting. It would appear to me the reason this cease fire is holding is because of the bold declaration of the Rabbis. After thirty days of peace, peace talks in Egypt are scheduled to continue.

Israeli history reveals over and over again that as God's people turn to Him during difficult times He responds. We could do a through study of every war that Israel has fought and won and see the hand of God providing guidance and victory in supernatural ways. Even during this recent conflict in Gaza, Hamas members openly admit that the Israeli God has numerous times re-directed their rockets away from the original target of Hamas.

During the American Revolution there was a theme, "Resistance To Tyrants Is Obedience To God." President George Washington hoped that Americans would never forget God's role in the American Revolution. The Continental Congress regularly called for National Days of "Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer." At one point, the National Capital and Congress were forced to flee. American forces were poorly armed and near starvation, yet they repeatedly survived and prevailed against all odds. British leaders were perplexed by America's unexpected survival. Hallelujah!

Our Lord God desires to take care of His people, BUT we must turn to Him in prayer and fasting. Psalm 76:1,4,6,8 says, "In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel. You are more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse were cast into a deep sleep. You caused judgment to be heard from Heaven; the earth feared and was still."

Psalm 83 War?

We have addressed the possibility of a war in the Middle East as described in Psalm 83 previously in our Blog, however, current events there necessitate looking at this possibility again. Psalm 83:4 says about the enemies of Israel, "Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more."

The rise of an Islamic Caliphate known as ISIS who has gained control of Northern Iraq and Northern Syria on a murderous campaign has caused prophetic Bible Theologians to look at Psalm 83 again. ISIS has even had an influence in the Gaza conflict and an ISIS flag has been seen in Nazareth. Their overt stated goal is to invade and destroy Israel and the United States.

Psalm 83:5 continues in describing the enemies of Israel, "For they have consulted together with one consent; they form a confederacy against you." The next three verses six - eight go on to describe exactly the locations of the enemies of Israel who surround them: vs.6 "Tents of Edom (Palestinians in Southern Jordan), Ishmaelites (Saudis), Moab (Palestinians in Central Jordan), Hagarites (Egypt), vs.7 Gebal (North Lebanon) Ammon (Northern Jordan) Amalek (Sinai) Philistia (Hamas) Tyre (Hezbullah) vs.8 Assyria (Northern Iraq)."

The word of our Lord God clearly indicates that Israel currently is surrounded by enemies planning to destroy them. Now the addition of ISIS causes the scenario to be more dangerous and intense than ever. The last couple verses of Psalm 83 encourages us to turn to our Lord asking Him to protect the people of Israel. Verses 13, 16, 17 say "O my God, make them like the whirling dust, fill their faces with shame, let them be confounded and dismayed forever." Let us pray similar prayers to our Lord on behalf of the people of Israel.

May The Lord Bless You And Keep You In His Care This Day,

Ceasefire?

New headlines indicate a five day ceasefire has been declared in Gaza and Israel. However, there is still activity from both sides but much less than in the past. Peace talks also are taking place in Egypt. Hamas keeps asking for the Gaza Seaport blockade by Israel to be lifted while Israel wants Gaza to be declared a Demilitarized Zone. Will a true ceasefire ever come?

Another news headline has surfaced during this past week that is very hard to comprehend. The United Nations is considering investigating whether Israel has conducted any "war crimes." Why are they not considering investigating Hamas or investigating how ISIS is treating Christians in Iraq? By the way, the Israeli Government already is investigating whether their own troops have indeed conducted any "war crimes."

Let us do a mini-investigation for ourselves of the warfare techniques used by both sides. Hamas in the last month has fired 3,530 rockets into Israel with the primary purpose of killing as many Israeli civilians as possible. I am not sure any other military unit in history has had a similar goal during a conflict! Additionally, Hamas fired their rockets from civilian neighborhoods, hospitals and schools using civilians as shields. A massive tunnel network was constructed from Gaza into Israel so that Hamas terrorists could surface and cause a massacre during a Jewish Feast Day.

Conversely, the goal of the Israeli Defense Forces during this conflict was to have the least amount of Palestinian civilian casualties as possible. Prior to an air force attack, leaflets were dropped in the area alerting the civilians to vacate the area along with warning telephone calls. A large medical tent was established along the border to treat Gaza civilians injured during the conflict. At one point during the time when there was no electricity in Gaza Israeli teams worked to restore necessary power. Even during rockets landing in Israel, trucks loaded with humanitarian aid were moving from Israel to Gaza. A Palestinian leader commented, "It is time to get rid of Hamas, the Israelis treat us better."

An Israeli soldier Oron Shaul was captured August 1st. There was jubilation in Gaza as women and children pranced and danced. At the same time, sweets and pastries were given out to all the celebrants. In Israel thousands of Israelis gathered at the Western Wall and prayed Psalm 121 and 130 for the safe return of Oron. Unfortunately, Oron did not survive. Psalm 121 says, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills - from whence comes my help. My help comes from The Lord, Who made Heaven and earth. He Who keeps you will not slumber, behold, He Who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep." Let us be those who pray similar prayers for Israel during these challenging times.

"The Hiding Place"

I would think most of us recognize the title of today's message which is also the title of a book written by Corrie ten Boom. Corrie shares how her family in Haarlem, Holland in the early 1940's, after the Nazi invasion of Holland, helped the Jewish people evade persecution. Most of us know the story but I want to share how their deep faith and trust in God protected them.

The ten Boom family owned a watch repair shop but before the doors to the shop were opened at 8:30 every morning father ten Boom read one chapter of the Bible and the family prayed. This was repeated at 8:45 each evening. This was Corrie's heritage.

Corrie remembers vividly the night of the invasion as she was in bed and an explosion shook her bed. She immediately went to be with her older sister Betsie and the two prayed many hours for their country. Betsie even prayed for the invading Germans. For five days people came to the watch shop to have the ten Boom family pray for their husbands and sons who were in battle.

During the first year of the Nazi occupation, there were growing signs of the persecution of the Jews. A shop window said "Jews will not be served," a public park sign said "No Jews," and a Synagogue was burned down. The ten Boom family befriended a man who everyday walked his three bull dogs in the neighborhood. One day the dogs were gone. He said he put the dogs to sleep so when the Nazi's came to take him away they would not be left alone.

Word spread that the ten Boom family were friends of the Jews. Suddenly, Jews would show up at the watch shop door saying they had no place to stay. They were always welcomed to live with the family as long as necessary. The living quarters were expanded and hiding places were constructed that were impossible to find.

As all this started happening, Corrie wondered "How should a Christian act when evil is in power?" She then made a commitment to her Lord Jesus, "I offer myself for Your people, in any way, any place, any time."

Corrie and her sister Betsie eventually ended up in concentration camps where they led Bible studies and prayer meetings. By mistake Corrie was finally released as it would appear The Lord intervened. After the war, she administered a large home in Haarlem, Holland where those needing physical and spiritual recovery received continual ministry. She even opened a similar place in Germany.

The story of Corrie ten Boom is an extraordinary example of a child of God sharing His love in difficult and challenging surroundings. Isaiah 62:1 says, "For Zion's Sake. . .I will not remain silent." Are we willing to be those who speak out on Israel's behalf as many countries in the Middle East are determined to destroy them; terror attacks are happening again in Israel; and Anti-Semitism world wide is similar to the Holocaust Period?

Call A Time Of Prayer

The conflict in Gaza is now in the third week with Cease Fire talks taking place in Egypt. However, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declared this week the goal of Israeli Defense Forces is to destroy all tunnels in Gaza and those leading into Israel. Hamas keeps demanding for the "shipping blockade" imposed by Israel in the waters fronting Gaza be lifted. So it does not appear an end to the conflict is near.

Joel Rosenberg, Messianic author and journalist, wrote recently that Netanyahu needs to call for a time of prayer and fasting in Israel. He referenced 2Chronicles Chapters 6 and 20 when Kings prayed with the people of Israel and Judah.

King Solomon shortly after the construction of the new temple was completed "Stood before the altar of The Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread out his hands and said 'Lord God of Israel there is no God in Heaven or on earth like you, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.'" 2Chronicles 6:12,14. Solomon went on to pray "When Your people go out to battle against their enemies, wherever You send them, and when they pray to You toward the temple which I have built for Your name, then hear from Heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause." 2Chronicles 6:34,35.

"It happened after this that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them besides the Ammonites came to battle against Jehoshaphat. So Judah gathered together to ask help from The Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek The Lord. Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, stood before The Lord." 2Chronicles 20:1,4,13. Then The Spirit of The Lord came and said "Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you King Jehoshaphat! Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's. You will not need to fight in this battle. Now when they began to sing and to praise, The Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated." 2Chronicles 6:15,17,22.

Let us pray the leaders of Israel take the advice offered by Joel Rosenberg and call for a time of prayer and fasting and then observe how their Mighty God responds.

Whose Fault Is It?

We are now in the second week of this conflict between Hamas in Gaza and Israel with no end in sight. Hundreds of rockets from Hamas have been fired into Southern Israel but also toward Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Israeli Defense Forces have responded by targeting Hamas leader's homes and rocket launch sites. All of this raises the following question - whose fault is it?

We need to go back a number of weeks looking at an incident when three Jewish teenagers hiking in Judea/Samaria were mudered by Hamas terrorists. Unfortunately, an Israeli Jew responded by killing a Palestinian youth. Hamas used this incident to dramatically increase the number and distance of rockets fired into Israel. As a result, we could say both sides are at fault. However, the conflict was dramatically escalated by Hamas.

I feel it is also important to examine the motives and techniques of warfare used by both sides. The motive of Hamas is and has always been to destroy Israel. Israel's motive in this conflict is simply to defend and protect its citizens.

The warfare techniques of Hamas are to shoot rockets into Israeli cities and towns with the goal of killing as many civilians as possible and to tunnel into Israeli towns to conduct terror raids. In contrast, Israeli Defense Forces prior to bombing a location to destroy Hamas operatives notify the citizens at that location to leave the area before the attack. Hamas responds by telling these same citizens to remain using its own citizens as hostages. An Israeli Air Force pilot noticed the citizens had not left and flew away without completing his bombing mission.

A heartwarming report out of Israel showed Messianic Jewish citizens praying together with Palestinian Christians. Hallelujah! We need to do likewise! Hebrews 4:16 says "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." In these days and times in which we live, we need to be BOLD in our prayer times of holding up Israel continually before The Lord especially for His hand of protection. Israeli leaders acknowledge their best friends are Christians praying and supporting them.

Trust In The Lord

John Bolton, former United States Ambassador to the United Nations, mentioned this week that he believes the Middle East is in the most turmoil since the 1967 War. Recently, we have been reporting about this new terror organization known as ISIS and we have learned that they have set goals for the next five years as follows: Remove the United States from Iraq, Get control of Iraq, Establish a Caliphate, Destroy Israel. Looking at these four goals, it appears three out of the four are almost accomplished.

News headlines of the last few days have unfortunatly illustrated a very serious and dangerous scenario in Israel. Since the beginning of July, Hamas in Gaza has launched over 200 rockets into Israel. Tuesday of this week more than 100 rockets were fired into Southern Israel but also some were sent over Israel's three most populated cities - Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa. Rockets over these cities are hard to accept and comprehend since I understand this is a first time event.

The Israeli Air Force has responded with numerous air attacks over Gaza targeting especially the homes of rocket launch sites and Hamas leaders. Notice many of the rocket launch sites are right in the center of civilian areas. Additionally, Israel has called up thousands of Reserve Troops and have gathered them on the border of Gaza for a possible ground assault.

A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT - In Joshua 1:5 The Lord spoke to Joshua saying "No man shall be able to stand before you. . .I will not leave you nor forsake you." Also, in Joshua 11:23 it says "So Joshua took the whole land." Joshua believed God and conquered the land. In Psalm 37:1-4 our Lord tells us not to be "envious" of the ungodly for their time is short. The Lord wants all of us to trust Him with all of life's circumstances. When David found tough times, he remembered the victories God gave him. In conclusion, The Lord desires we "Delight ourselves in Him" by praising Him even in our darkest hours.

Ominous Signs

We have shared numerous times that Israel is surrounded by enemies who desire to destroy them. Almost every day the Israeli Defense Forces have to strike Hamas rocket launch sites in response to rockets launched into Southern Israel. This week there were reports of rockets launched into a day camp and students taking final exams heard rockets landing outside.

The new so-called unity Palestinian government including Hamas has illustrated that nothing has changed. Within the last few weeks, Hamas kidnapped three Israeli teenagers and this week we learned they have been found dead and there is no remorse from this new Palestinian government.

However, in today's message we want to concentrate on a new ominous threat to Israel and much of the Middle East. In Iraq, to the north east of Israel, a new Al-Qaeda inspired group called ISIS (Islamic State In Iraq and Syria) has been very active in conquering a number of northern cities in Iraq and approximately half of Syria. Ultimate plans for this new group include conquering Jordan, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia with the ultimate goal of destroying Israel. Newest reports this week include their desire to conquer parts of northern Africa and eastern parts of Europe.

Curiously, all of this raises a very appropriate question. Do these events draw us closer to the last great battle called Armageddon? Revelation 16:12-16 refer to the Kings Of The East gathering at the River Euphrates, which is dried up, for the Battle of that Great Day of God Almighty. These Kings and their armies invade Israel and are ultimately defeated by the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Revelation 19:18-21.

In these perilous times and in the times to come, please pray with me for all of God's people in the following manner: Dear Heavenly Father, You are the Name above all names, the Lord of heaven and earth, King of all kings, El  Elyon - Most High God, Captain of the Lord's Hosts. You Are The Commander of all commanders, the Commander of the armies of heaven who has no equal who cannot lose, and You are on our side. All power is Yours, Sovereign God our Father. Our weapons through God are mighty to pull down enemy strongholds. We yield all of ourselves to all of God. We pray this in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

Shalom,
Frank

Obeying The Lord God

The following is a true story taken from the Levitt Letter of May, 2014.

Rose was the youngest child of nine siblings when she was chosen by her parents at 12 years old to be sent to the United States to live with relatives. Rose and her family lived in Poland in 1911 where life was very difficult with constant hunger. As Rose's father said goodbye to her as she was boarding the ship he said "Rose, my child, God is watching over you. Remember His laws and keep them and remember more than the Jews keeping the Sabbath, the Sabbath has kept the Jews. Don't forget who you are. Keep the Sabbath - no matter what sacrifice you must make."

In New York, Rose's relatives welcomed her into their home. It was not long before Rose found a job as a sewing machine operator. However Rose's relatives insisted religion was an unnecessary accessory in America. Each week, Rose came up with a new excuse to miss work on Saturday to keep the Sabbath. After three weeks, the foreman called her over and said "Rose, either you come to work Saturday or you can look for a new job."

When Saturday arrived, Rose started to work but instead went to a park where she celebrated the Sabbath by singing traditional songs with tears in her eyes. When the Sabbath ended Rose returned home where her cousin Joe shouted, "Rose, you're here! Where were you? There was a fire in the factory and 190 workers died." This is in reference to the infamous TriangleShirtwaist Factory fire on Saturday, March 25, 1911. Rose had obeyed and kept the Sabbath and the Sabbath kept her just as her father said would happen.

This story of Rose obeying her Lord is a wonderful example for all of us. It raises a question whether we are consistant with our support of Israel. For example, are we blessing Israel, are we praying continually for the peace of Jerusalem and are we sharing our financial resources with Israel?

High State Of Alert

Since its emergence as a nation in 1948, Israel has had to live in a state of perpetual high alert. This is a statement illustrating how the state of Israel must function as a result of being totally surrounded by enemies. Today's message will illustrate just a few examples of actions by Israel's enemies and some defensive measures taken by Israel.

Last Thursday, three teenage Yeshiva students were kidnapped in Judea or Samaria and are not rescued to date. The reactions around the world are very curious.

Israel is outraged and is searching every structure in Judea and Samaria and arresting Hamas operatives in the process. The Palestinians are celebrating and the United Nations and the Palestinians even question whether the event took place. Meanwhile, rockets continue to be fired into Southern Israel from Hamas in Gaza and the Israeli Air Force responds by attempting to destroy the rocket launchers. A devastating civil war continues in Syria with terrorist forces in control of half of Syria and now a terror group I.S.I.S. has gained control of Northern Iraq.

The following are just a few examples of measures taken by Israel to be constantly in a state of High Alert. For a number of years, all Israeli military aircraft have been equipped with an infra-red system to combat missiles. The laser system targets and deflects a missile from its intended flight path. El Al aircraft will also have these devices installed. During the Second Lebanon War in 2006 Hizbullah rockets were fired at hospitals in Haifa. As a result, a three story underground state of the art facility has been built in Haifa. It is designed to protect patients and staff from conventional, chemical and biological attacks. These measures must be taken to continually protect the Israeli people.

Psalm 23 indicates how David had learned to want for nothing as The Lord protected him from a lion, a bear and a giant. David had no fear as he walked "through the valley of the shadow of death" in verse four. He knew that God would be with him and protect him. We should all have similar faith and trust in our God especially now for the Israelis.

May The Lord Bless And Keep You In His Care This Day And Each Day,

Unity Government? - Part Two

A headline this week in The Jerusalem Post stated "Odds of a major war in the heart of Israel have gone up tremendously." This headline was part of the numerous reactions to the announcement of the new Palestinian government which is now comprised of Fatah, the moderate Palestinian entity, and the terror organization Hamas. For example, what now will happen if Hamas fires a rocket at Jerusalem from Ramallah or at an Israeli civilian in Judea and Samaria? "The relative calm" between the Israelis and the Palestinians has suddenly become very, very tense.

We all need to understand that the 1988 Hamas Charter explicitly commits the Palestinian terror group to the murdering of the Jewish people. To complicate the situation further, the United States government supports Fatah to the tune of 440 million dollars each year. As a result, United States taxpayers are now supporting a terror group. Also, this week the Israeli government has urged the United States and other nations not to recognize or fund this new government. Members of the U.S. Congress have gone so far as to recommend the suspension of funding the Palestinians.

John Kerry has proclaimed the new Palestinian government "Is committed to previous agreements." The Oslo Accords called for complete Palestinian Demilitarization and the destroying of thousands of missiles in Gaza. Both of these events obviously have not taken place to date.

There are numerous questions concerning the functioning of this new Palestinian government and how it will affect the safety of Israeli citizens. I just studied a teaching letter from Bridges For Peace Ministry in Jerusalem titled "God's Walls Of Protection." Our Lord God's Word mentions "walls" over one hundred times concerning the defensive walls of a city. Israeli leaders must have taken this to heart and have built a defensive wall around Jerusalem which has significally lowered the number of terror attacks. We also know Praise and Worship are ways to sustain the Walls of Protection we receive on a regular basis from Our Lord. Let us all be very active in sustaining this protection for all of God's people especially Israelis at this perilous time.

Unity Government?

If a person stayed current with news headlines this past week, they would notice a number of challenging events took place concerning Israel. Primarily, this past Monday the leader of Fatah, Malmoud Abbas, announced that he has made official the Unity Government between Fatah and the terror organization Hamas. Other headlines illustrate the reactions of the Israeli and United States governments.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu called an emergency Cabinet meeting which resulted in reduced financial support for Fatah and the announcement stating that Israel will no longer participate in peace negotiations since the new Unity Government now includes terrorists.

The U.S. government then announces it recognizes the new Unity Government and invites its leaders to meet with President Obama and Congress. This came as quite a surprise to Israel. Part of the U.S. recognition includes the stipulation that the new Unity Government must recognize Israel and refrain from violence.

I do not want to be immediately critical of this event before it even has a chance to function. However, all we need to do is observe other news headlines of the tactics of Israel's enemies at the same time this Unity Government was forming. This past week Hamas announces it is improving ties with Iran; Palestinians riot on the Temple Mount in connection with the celebration of Jerusalem Day and this past Sunday and Monday Hamas fires rockets into Southern Israel from the Gaza.

The United Government has already announced that Fatah and Hamas will  function with a "Common Cause." The key question is - what is this Common Cause? Is the Common Cause peace or the destruction of Israel? We also need to realize that Ramallah (headquarters of the Unity Government) is located just a few miles from Jerusalem. As a result, a terror orginaztion is now officially functioning on Jerusalem's doorstep.

Psalm 87 is entitled "Glorious Zion, City Of God" and verses 1-3 state "His foundation is in the holy mountains. The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of you, O City of God!" Numerous verses of the Word of God illustrate how much He loves Israel and Jerusalem and is always in the process of protecting them. We need to pray these types of Scriptures into effect on a regular basis.

Annexation ?

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu mentioned recently that he appeared to be open to annexation of the West Bank in the aftermath of the failure of the peace process. He went on to say that the idea of annexation is gaining ground with leaders of Israel. Netanyahu also confirmed his opposition to Left-wing ideas of territorial withdrawal from portions of the West Bank.

"The 2005 disengagement from Gaza strengthened the terror group Hamas resulting in thousands of rockets being fired at residents of cities in Southern Israel" said Netanyahu. He went on to explain that the only way a Palestinian State can be possible, it must function as a demilitarized zone which recognizes the Nation - State of Israel. He went on to question "How do you reach this type of solution if you cannot get it through negotiations which officially ended on April 29th." Complicating the situation further, Fatah has anounced it is working currently to unite with Hamas and Israel has continually stated it will not negotiate with a terror organization.

All of this type of talk between Israeli and Palestinian leaders revolve around the age old question - Whose Land Is It? The answer to this question is addressed by our Lord God in His word in the book of Genesis twenty two times. The Lord addresses it first as part of the Abrahamic Covenant in Genesis 15:18 when He says to Abraham "To your descendants I have given this land, from the River of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates." Our Lord God gave almost the whole Middle East to His covenant people through the linnage of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. However, this land has been divided up many times. Currently, the enemies of Israel and the world media want to divide up again.

Should Netanyahu even consider the concept of annexation? I prefer to leave the answer of this question to The Lord as we bathe it in fervent prayer. "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority," 1Timothy 2:1-2. Will you join me in praying on a regular basis for all those in authority but especially for the leaders of Israel?

Israel Today

Our messages the last six weeks centered on the future of the land of Israel and the Jewish people. Well, what is happening today? On a regular basis, the residents of Israel are threatened by terror attacks from Hezbollah on its Northern border, from Fatah internally, from Hamas out of Gaza and Anti-Semitism is on the rise globally.

A global poll was recently taken in which 53,000 people in 100 countries were interviewed revealing that one-third of them believe the Holocaust was greatly exaggerated or a myth and one-fourth held Anti-Semitic views. Additionally, the Palestinian Authority says it wants peace in English but when speaking to its own people in Arabic preaches war and hatred. Recently, on the anniversary of Israel's creation, the official PA controlled newspaper wrote "The Zionist gangs invaded the land of Palestine and expelled its residents." This is a total fabrication! The truth is that just before the start of the 1948 war, 160,000 Arabs became Israeli citizens and 750,00 fled to escape the fighting when Arab leaders encouraged them to leave.

How does God's covenant people react to all this continual persecution? On May 14th a coal mine exploded in Turkey killing more than 200 with hundreds more trapped. Israel's National Emergency team extended a helping hand offering aid in rescuing and treating those pulled from the mine. Additionally, an Israeli team of security officials is in Nigeria to aid that country's security forces in their fight against the Islamic terrorist organization Boka Haram who kidnapped more than 300 hundred school girls in April.

Why do they react in such a manner? I sense they believe God's Word litterally and attempt each day to function accordingly. Genesis 12:3 says "In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed" and Psalm 1:1,2,4 say "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but His delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law He meditates day and night. For The Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish." Can we do the same by blessing them and praying for them daily?

The Future Of Israel - Series Conclusion

For the last five weeks our messages have focused on the Future of Israel with the book of Ezekiel as our primary source. We will conclude this series of messages concentrating on Jeremiah 31 where our Lord God states "He will make a new covenant with the House of Israel."

Jeremiah 31:31-34. . ."Behold, the days are coming, says The Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah - not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says The Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says The Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know The Lord,' for they all shall know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says The Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." This message is repeated in Hebrews 8:8-12, but our Lord adds in verse 13 "A new covenant has made the first obsolete."

There are four provisions in the new covenant - God's righteous law becomes an internal guide; He will be their God and they shall be His people; the Holy Spirit will be the special agent of God's blessings for His people; there will be complete cleansing of their sins. The new covenant is only made sure by the blood that Jesus shed on Calvery's Cross. Hallelujah!

Yes, the future is supernaturally glorious for all who become part of the new covenant by receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Well, when and how will this happen for God's old covenant people? Some have already come into the new covenant. Zechariah 13:9-10 says "In that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. . .then they will look on Me (their Messiah) whom they have pierced; they will mourn for Him as one mourns for His only Son." They will recognize Jesus as their Messiah and come into the new covenant. Praise The Lord! How many? Romans 11:26 says "All Israel will be saved."

Let us be those who continually boldly pray on a regular basis for more and more of God's old covenant people to come into the new covenant until their Messiah returns to earth.
