The Jewish Messiah - Part Seven

This will be the last in a series of messages identifying Jesus as The Jewish Messiah. To conclude our series we will look at the Hebrew meaning of the name Jesus. The information in this message is authored by Warren Marcus in his book entitled "The Priestly Prayer Of The Blessing."

Warren is a Jewish man who has accepted Jesus as the Jewish Messiah. However, Warren admits to being offended by the name Jesus. He remembered horror stories of Jews being persecuted in Russia, during the Crusades and in Nazi Germany all in the name of Jesus.

Warren learned that the Hebrew name for Jesus is Yeshua. Jesus' full name and title in Hebrew is Yeshua Hamashiach. It is critically important to understand that a person's Hebrew name literally identifies attitudes and character of that person. Yeshua means "Yehovah Saves." The sacred name of God in Hebrew is Yehovah. Yeshua came to earth representing Yehovah to bring salvation to all people - Jews and Gentiles. Hallelujah!

Let us go a step further! The full name Yeshua Hamashiah means "The One True God Saves As The Anointed One - The Prophet." As a result, the Jewish Messiah is referred to as "The Anointed Prophet." We can come to only one God Anointed conclusion - Jesus {Yeshua} is the Jewish Messiah and the provider of salvation, forgiveness of sins and eternal life to the whole world!

We trust that this series has been a blessing for both Jews and Gentiles. If you now realize it is time to receive Jesus {Yeshua} as your Savior and Messiah, please this prayer with me:

"Jesus {Yeshua}, I know I am a sinner,
please forgive me of all my sins,
please come to live in my heart as my Lord and Savior
 and grant me eternal life.
Thank You Jesus! Amen and Amen,
I Am A New Creation In Christ!"

Next week we will start looking at Israel today and its Biblical Future. Stay Tuned.

The Jewish Messiah - Part Six

We are in the midst of an extended series of messages highlighting Jesus as The Jewish Messiah. This week our message will center around Jesus as our High Priest.

Under the Old Covenant the High Priest represented the people before Jehovah God and was the only person allowed to be in His presence. Moses met with The One True God of Israel on Mount Sinai and also within the temporary dwelling place of God called the "Tent of Meeting."

Once the actual Tabernacle was constructed in the wilderness and the Temple in Jerusalem, God inhabited The Holy Of Holies. Only the High Priest could enter The Holy Of Holies once a year on The Day Of Atonement. In effect, The High Priest was an intermediary between the children of Israel and Jehovah God.

Currently, under the New Covenant established through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, He Is Now Our High Priest! This was a sovereign Act Of God Almighty. Hebrews 5:5, 6, 10 says, "So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest but it was He who said to Him: You are My Son . . . You are a priest forever . . . Called by God as High Priest." Notice in these verses Jehovah God says to Jesus:

You Are My Son

You Are A Priest Forever

You Are Called By God As High Priest

How does Jesus, Our High Priest, affect all our lives today? We who have received Jesus Christ as our Savior and Messiah can now come into His presence anytime and anywhere through worshipping Jesus and through prayer. In fact, Jehovah God encourages us to do this "BOLDLY." Hebrews 4:16 says, "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

The Jewish Messiah - Part Five

For Zion's Sake Ministry committed at the start of the New Year to present a series of messages confirming Jesus Christ as The Jewish Messiah. To date our messages have shown:

Jesus was reared in a Jewish home and was an observant Jewish adult
His birth announcement said He will save His People from their sins
Jehovah God announced Jesus will take care of all people
Prophetic words said Jesus will reign on David's throne forever

Our message this week will show Jesus celebrating Passover with His disciples just before His arrest. Matthew 26:27-28 says, "Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, 'Drink from it all of you. For this is My blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.'" Notice Jesus referred to the cup and its contents as "My blood of the New Covenant." What does this mean?

Jehovah God proclaims in Jeremiah 31:31-34, "Behold, the days are coming, says The Lord, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah - not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My Covenant which they broke, thou I was a husband to them. But this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days. I will put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts and I will be their God and they shall be My people . . . for I will forgive their iniquity and their sin I will remember no more." God prophesied that He will bring about a New Covenant for the Jewish People to include forgiveness of their sins.

How did God bring about this New Covenant? Jesus died on a cross shedding His blood to establish the New Covenant for the Jewish People and all people resulting in Him forgiving their sins. This is why Jesus proclaimed during the Passover Meal with His disciples, "For this is My blood of the New Covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
