A Lesson From History

"I Will Bless Those Who Bless You,
And I Will Curse Him Who Curses You"
Genesis 12:3

This verse was said by God to Abraham as He was establishing the Abrahamic Covenant. In effect, our Lord God was saying He will bestow blessings upon those who bless the Jewish people and curses upon those who curse them.

Groups of Christians who support Israel are currently investigating what is known as The Genesis 12:3 Effect. This school of thought believes the 1929 Great Depression was a divine punishment for the United States Immigration Policy that effectively trapped large numbers of the Jewish people in Eastern Europe.

The United States immigration policy in the 1920's dramatically limited immigration after World War I. These limits extensively  hurt Jews in Eastern Europe desiring to leave. If the United States doors had remained open could the lives of Jewish people been different? Was the Great Depression a curse God sent upon the United States as a consequence of their action taken against the Jews?

Is this "Genesis 12:3 Effect" an issue today? How is the United States government treating Israel and the Jewish people today? How will they treat them in the future? What can we who support the Jewish people and Israel do and say? Of course we need to pray but we can also contact our Congressional Representatives. The Word of our Lord God is not something to ignore or discount. This has been proven over and over again in history and many books have been written in this regard.

May The Lord Bless You And Keep You This Day And Each Day,
Frank
