A God Of Righteousness And Justice

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over His kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of The Lord will accomplice this." Isaiah 9:6-7.

The above well known message from our Lord God predicted the birth of Jesus Christ and how He will rule and reign on David's throne in Jerusalem upon His return to earth. There are many facets to the reign of Jesus on earth but for our message this week we will concentrate on His ruling in righteousness and justice. They are both desperately needed in the world today especially in the Middle East.

One of the many descriptions of Jesus is "The Lord our Righteousness." The Book of Psalms reveals to us that none are righteous only our Lord God. However, Romans 5:19 calls us to be partakers of His Righteousness. Abraham became an heir of righteousness by his faith.

Psalm 45 says our Lord God loves righteousness and hates wickedness. The day is coming soon when The Lord our righteousness will be released from Heaven and take up the throne of King David in Jerusalem. Because of our faith in Him, we will become people of His righteousness.

"He has shown you, O man, what is good and what does The Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8. There is much injustice today between the Jews and the Arabs in the Middle East. Ezekiel 47:22 says that the Jewish people should treat those that live among them as their own flesh and blood. This is God's way of justice. We hear on a regular basis numerous reports of them doing this but not always perfectly.

In Amos 5:23-24 our Lord God says, "Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never failing stream."

I pray for all of us that we will function in righteousness by our faith and in justice in our daily lives and pray all in Israel will do likewise.

May The Lord Bless You Today And Each Day,
Frank
