Consequences!

In last week's message, which was titled Shame . . . Shame . . . Shame, we reported that the U.N.S.C. had determined that Jewish residents living in Jewish settlements on Jewish land were living in "Occupied Palestinian Territory." We referred to this resolution as a "Shameful Act" since the criteria for making such a decision is based on false information. Jewish people living in Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem are living on land given to them by the One True God (Genesis 15:18).

Last week we also illustrated that our Lord God's Word never changes resulting in this land given to God's Covenant people will always belong to them (Jeremiah 31:35-36). We additionally raised the question whether our Lord God will react with judgments and/or curses upon those who took part in this resolution (Genesis 12:3).

If we were to do a detailed study of the history of Israel and the Jewish people, we would find numerous examples of our Lord God reacting severely at times upon those who have mistreated His people and His land. In fact, numerous books have been written outlining these events.

A prime example is the story of Esther. The Jewish people were in bondage in Persia when Haman, who was an assistant to the King of Persia, plotted to eliminate the Jewish people. This happened after Mordecai, Esther's cousin, refused to bow to Haman. Haman had actually built gallows to use for the hanging of Mordecai.

When Mordecai learned of this plot, he convinced newly appointed Queen Esther to plead with the king to spare "her people." When King Ahasuerus learns of the plot and that Esther is Jewish, he has Haman hung on the same gallows intended for Mordecai. Yes, there are consequences for those who curse God's people and His land.

To conclude our message this week, we will look at portions of Psalm 2 illustrating the world we live in today. Psalm 2:1-4 says, "Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vane thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take council together, against The Lord and against His anointed . . . He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision."

Be encouraged, God's people, our Lord knows what is happening and will not ignore what is happening! Praise His Holy Name!

May The Lord Bless You And Keep You This Day And Each Day,
Frank
